We designed a self-contained annexe in the garden for the client’s grandparents to live in close proximity to the wider family, enabling the family to successfully care for them. We took advantage of the garden location, maximising views of the garden whilst providing some privacy between the main house and the annexe. For this, we used the pre-existing division in the garden to demarcate these two distinct sites. The annexe is a future-proof space, containing a small home office ideal for working from home and a gym area.
