This project comprised a full refurbishment of the ground floor and a single storey side extension to an existing house. The client wanted to improve the home for future senior living therefore the ground floor was reorganised and a bedroom was added. We made the ground floor open plan and used storage units to intelligently demarcate spaces without impeding views onto the garden. This enabled the kitchen to be concealed for some privacy and for discreet utility spaces. We made a feature of the pre-existing spiral staircase, creating a circular space around it to achieve a brighter feel. The final space feels open, light and spacious.
